AUSTRALIAN COLLEGE OF OPTOMETRY
Engaging staff in a time of change
When transformation felt daunting, a clear Change Story helped staff understand the journey and their role in it.
The Australian College of Optometry (ACO) faced a crucial moment. Continuing its essential mission required decisive and transformational change. While positive for patients and the organisation’s future, these changes would be felt most acutely by staff.
Neon Bureau developed a robust communication and engagement program to ensure the changes were understood and accepted – both inside and outside the organisation.
Central to this was a purposeful Change Story that explained the “why” and “what” behind the shifts, forming the backbone of all key messages. We also built mechanisms to reflect genuine consultation and transparency about how input would be considered.
Alongside this, we supported the CEO and Executive team with strategy and advice – helping them tailor communications and address staff concerns directly.
By taking a people-first approach, we helped ACO navigate a challenging period with clarity, empathy and credibility.
